Gender Mainstreaming for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in the Caribbean Webinar

You are invited to participate in the upcoming Gender Mainstreaming for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in the Caribbean Webinar.  This event is co-hosted by FAO, CARICOM and the Government of Canada, as part of the “Cooperation for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience in the Caribbean” initiative, which aims to support CARICOM members via a pre-investment fund, technical assistance, and capacity building on gender-sensitive climate adaptation project proposal design.

Men and women experience the effects of climate change differently.  This is often due to existing gender gaps of unequal access to resources, decision-making processes as well as training and information. Gender blind approaches of policies and programmes to address climate change can further exacerbate the negative impacts and result in greater burdens particularly for vulnerable women and men.

In this webinar, experts on gender and climate change will share their experiences and practices, which are positively contributing to gender sensitive climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts in the Caribbean.

Attached is the concept note and draft Agenda which provides further details on the webinar.
