As the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM convenes later this month, the focus remains firmly on enhancing the quality of life for citizens through deeper regional cooperation and inclusive, sustainable development.

Preparations are well advanced for the milestone Meeting, which will be held from 24–27 February in St. Kitts and Nevis under the theme, ‘Beyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM’.

Ahead of the Meeting, Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett provided insights into the format of the proceedings and outlined some key focus areas for deliberation. In St Kitts and Nevis, Heads of Government will consider critical matters, including implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), strengthening regional agriculture and food security, and deepening engagement with third states to expand opportunities for economic growth and development across the Community.
