The CARICOM Young Professionals Network (CYPP) is celebrating the appointment of Hasani Mc Donald as St Kitts and Nevis’ representative on the United Nations Youth Advisory Group (UNYAG) for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
The UN Youth Advisory Group is a dynamic platform which unites passionate youth leaders from across the sub-region, ensuring that young voices are front and centre in shaping sustainable development. Working closely with the UN Sub-Regional Team (UNST), members play a leading role in advancing inclusive, resilient, and impactful change.
Hasani shared his vision for the role, highlighting responsibilities such as championing youth interests at national, regional, and international levels; ensuring youth perspectives are embedded across UNST programmes and initiatives; advocating for the inclusion and well-being of marginalised and vulnerable youth; and raising awareness of UN agencies’ ongoing projects through communication and outreach.
Following a successful term as Vice-Chair of the 2025 cohort of the UNYAG for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Hasani stated that he was excited to serve with the 2026 cohort of Youth Advocates.
His commitment remains clear:
“I intend to amplify youth leadership in sustainable development, climate resilience, and inclusive policymaking across the Caribbean.”
The CARICOM Secretariat congratulates Hasani, along with all the youth of our Region, for their meaningful contributions to this vital platform. Their journey highlights the power of Caribbean youth to lead boldly on the global stage.
