About the Event

The CARICOM Girls in ICT Partnership will host its 10^th Anniversary Regional Observance of International Girls in ICT Day on Thursday, 23 April 2026.

This milestone event brings together young people, educators, policymakers, technology professionals, and regional organisations to celebrate a decade of inspiring girls and young women across CARICOM to pursue opportunities in information and communication technologies (ICT) and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The full-day programme features interactive sessions, panel discussions, live coding demonstrations, youth-led conversations, and presentations from CARICOM and international technology leaders, all centred on empowering the next generation of girls to shape the digital future of the region.

The Caribbean Community Girls in ICT Partnership

This Partnership will respond to the issues outlined in the overview document and will support new challenges faced by CARICOM Governments of the 21st century, with an extremely dynamic environment, a rapidly changing labour market, and increasingly diverse societies – in essence, helping to “future proof” CARICOM development.

Why commemorate International Girls in ICT day? While girls across the world tend to outperform boys in reading and writing skills, they continue to be under-represented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Through International Girls in ICT Day, we work with partners build awareness about the gender digital divide, support technology education and skills training, and encourage more girls and young women to actively pursue careers in STEM.
