International Conference: The impact of ICT in education

Organized by the UNESCO Office in Brasilia, the Regional Office of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO Santiago) and the Secretariat of Distance Education of the Ministry of Education of Brazil, the international conference “The impact of ICT education, analyzed and discussed the training of teachers in information technology and communications (ICT), and evaluated the impact of ICT on the quality of education in Latin America and the Caribbean.

From 26 to 29 April, this event met in Brasilia experts in the field of education and ICTs as: Alfredo Rojas, UNESCO Santiago, Carolina Rossini, Harvard University, Daniela Trucco of ECLAC, Carlos Bielshowsky the Ministry of Education of Brazil, among others.

By ECLAC, Daniela Trucco made a presentation on “Reporting on ICT in Education in Latin America and the Caribbean”, in order to show an overview of the progress of the incorporation of ICT in education.

The design and implementation of policies that promote the incorporation of ICT in the school system in the regional context. After explaining the basic indicators on the progress of the region in terms of access to technology at school, uses and capabilities for both students and teachers, closes with a discussion of the challenges facing the region to improve access, further efforts teacher training, content development and consideration of the school (with all the complexities associated) as the space area to implement the incorporation of ICT strategies.
