CSME SPOKESPERSONS WORKSHOP IN SURINAME.

The CARICOM Secretariat is continuing its public education on the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) with a workshop in Suriname 26-27 October 2004. The two-day workshop will train twenty-five participants as CSME Spokespersons. Modules will focus on advocacy, CSME Messages, the Regional Integration Movement, Media Skills and Public Speaking Techniques.

The CARICOM Secretariat's CSME Unit is collaborating with the Suriname Ministry of Trade and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in facilitating the workshop.

CARICOM Heads of Government are scheduled to meet in Trinidad and Tobago, 8-9 November 2004 and the CSME will be the focus of their deliberations on the first of the two-day Meeting. Three CARICOM Member States: Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be CSME ready by the end of December 2004. The other CARICOM Member States are expected to be CSME ready by 31 December 2005.
