ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Antigua and Barbuda says it is seeking a development policy loan from the World Bank based on a comprehensive debt framework. A government statement gave no indication as to the size of the loan, but said that it is a “budget support instrument similar to the policy” at the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). The statement said that a team from the World Bank had visited the island last week as a follow-up to a mission undertaken in November last year and that it held talks with Finance Minister Harold Lovell, Tourism Minister John Maginley and Minister of Telecommunications Dr. Edmond Mansoor.
