Vivica Fox to host 2014 World Travel Awards in Anguilla

Amid flourishing tourism and a growing reputation as one of the world’s premier travel destinations, Anguilla has been selected to host the 2014 World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final, to be held December 7, 2014.  Award-winning actress Vivica A. Fox (“Independence Day”, “Batman & Robin,” “Why do Fools Fall in Love”) will headline this prestigious event among an exciting array of presenters and performers.

For the first time in its rich history, Anguilla will host the distinguished gala ceremony, hailed as the “Oscars of the Travel Industry.” The heralded event is set to take place on the picturesque island, celebrating the year’s top performers in travel, tourism and hospitality who continue to innovate and drive the industry forward.  Joining those honored will be hundreds of dignitaries, luminaries and international media, as well as government and industry leaders who continue to set the standard of excellence in travel.

“This is a very exciting milestone for Anguilla,” said Hon. Haydn Hughes, Anguilla’s Parliamentary Secretary with responsibility for Tourism and Sports. “Tourism is a vital part of our economy, and we have been working closely with the local and international businesses community to implement a number of groundbreaking initiatives over the last two years to generate tourism growth.” The island’s allure derives from the abundant warmth and hospitality of each Anguillian host, who have earned the global reputation as the “World’s Friendliest People.”  Boasting 33 immaculate beaches, Anguilla is laden with powder-soft vanilla sands and voluptuous swells of brilliant turquoise waters in hues that defy imagination.

The luxurious CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa has been chosen to showcase the distinguished Gala Ceremony. General Manager Stephane Zaharia said the resort is working around the clock to prepare for the prestigious event.  “Recognition by the World Travel Awards is rightly seen as the highest accolade in the tourism sector.  We look forward to extending our rich tradition of hospitality to the attending global travel specialists and invite each of them to experience our renowned culinary, wine and golf offerings in this unparalleled setting,” explained Zaharia.

The multi-award winning CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa harbors an exceptional setting for the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony. Situated in the crescent curve of Rendezvous Bay, CuisinArt offers luxurious suites and villas, an exceptional range of fine dining experiences, the highly revered Venus Spa, and a thrilling challenge for golf aficionados at the resort’s stunning 18-hole Greg Norman Signature Design Championship Course.

This is the first of a myriad of exciting partnerships,” explains Marvet Britto, President & CEO of The Britto Agency, the Global Branding and Public Relations Strategists for Anguilla. “We are laser-focused on continuing our development of innovative new market solutions, while continuing to conceive and attract world class, high-profile events to take place in Anguilla as a result of our comprehensive Global Rebranding Exercise. The World Travel Awards will not only showcase and incorporate the island’s spirited culture and history, but will also introduce guests to Anguilla’s greatest resource, its people, whose warmth and heart will continue to position the island to lure the next generation of discerning travelers.”

The World Travel Awards Gala Ceremonies are widely regarded as the most celebrated event in the travel industry, a venue for government and industry leaders to connect with international print and broadcast media. Winning a World Travel Award has a proven track record of significantly raising a company’s profile, and escalating profitability and recognition.
