THE CARICOM YOUTH AMBASSADOR CORPS WELCOMES THE NEW DEAN, 2021-2022

The CARICOM Youth Ambassador (CYA) Corps is pleased to welcome its new Dean, Ms. Renee Atwell, CYA from Trinidad and Tobago.

Ms. Reneé Atwell is an Attorney-at-Law and an advocate of a rehabilitative approach to juvenile justice and achieving SDG Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

Ms. Atwell is passionate about law, regional integration and youth development. In her current position as the CARICOM Youth Ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago, she advocates for greater attention to youth issues and youth involvement in leadership and decision making at national and regional levels.

As Dean, Ms. Atwell’s duties will entail chairing regional meetings of CYAs,  acting as a focal point and liaison for the policy advisory mechanism, establishing a Technical Advisory Committee to support the initiatives of the programme and representing CYAs at meetings of CARICOM Organs and Institutions and partner agencies, among other duties. Ms. Atwell will serve in this position for one year, from July 2021 – June 2022.

We wish Ms. Atwell the very best in her tenure as Dean of the CARICOM Youth Ambassador Corps.
