he Caribbean Community (CARICOM) maintains its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Guyana. Guyana’s border controversy with its western neighbour Venezuela relates to more than a century-old dispute which arose as a result of Venezuela’s contention that the Arbitral Award of 1899 was null and void.
