Duties

The incumbent is one of two Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) technicians assigned to maintain the HVAC equipment installed in the Embassy building.  The incumbent is expected to perform a full range of HVAC repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations at the skill level of a commercial journeyman HVAC technician.  The incumbent will work autonomously in most situations planning and organizing tools and materials for each assigned tasks.  

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Three years of work experience operating and maintaining HVAC systems and BAS controls.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have full knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, how the refrigeration process works, how to reclaim refrigerant, how controls and control modules work, control circuit wiring, and other specific related to the HVAC trade. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and wiring schematics Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman level HVAC technicians is required. Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: English (fluent) is required “This may be tested”

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to use tools of the trade. Must have local driver’s license.
