(Caribbean Community Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) – CARICOM Secretary‑General Dr Carla Barnett met with H.E. Melvin Bouva, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Cooperation of Suriname on the margins of the Caribbean Energy Week (CEW) 2026 in Paramaribo.
Their discussions focused on strengthening relations with third states, in Africa, Asia, and Latin America; expanding international partnerships; preparations for the Twenty‑Ninth Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) to be held in May in Paramaribo, Suriname; and engagement at the United Nations General Assembly in September.
