Survey finds multi-million dollar hotel not a national priority

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – A survey conducted by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has found that the multi-million dollar Marriott Hotel is not considered a priority by business groups even though the Donald Ramotar government says it is among the flagship projects in Guyana.
GCCI president Clinton Urling who released the findings at a news conference here Tuesday, said the 165MW Amaila Hydropower Project which is expected to create an opportunity for Guyana to generate its own power from a clean and natural source topped the projects the respondents say the government should be pursing.
The others the Linden to Lethem Road; construction and development of other interior roads; establishment of a recycling plant; and maritime ports upgrade.
