The CARICOM Secretariat Energy Programme has initiative an energy efficiency pilot project entitled “Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP)” with the technical assistance from the GIZ REETA Project. The key objective of the project is to utilise energy more effectively by using less electricity, while maintaining the levels of activity and productivity in the Secretariat. The BEEP is implemented under the guidance of a project board that includes internal and external stakeholders. It is already serving as a role model for similar management interventions throughout the Region. The OECS Commission in Saint Lucia is embarking on a similar initiative with the assistance of the GIZ REETA Project.
