Caribbean Export is currently implementing several projects within its work program that support increasing access to finance for regional SMEs.  In this context Caribbean Export has been working together with the World Bank on a programme to improve the angel investment ecosystem in the Caribbean region.
The programme is being branded “Link Caribbean”, a regional angel ecosystem building project (which involves two Grant components and the development of a Regional Angel Investor Network [RAIN])
LINK-Caribbean will bridge the gap between innovative high growth SMEs desiring of financing, and angel investors willing to invest in such companies.
TO be successful, the project requires a website through which Angel Investors and high growth SMEs can be provided relevant information on how to benefit from the various elements of the LINK Caribbean programme including:
  1. Giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to have their businesses and business ideas showcased, for viewing and consideration by regional and diaspora angel investors
  2. Giving SMEs the opportunity to apply for Investment readiness grants
  3. Giving investors and SMEs the opportunity to co-apply for Co-Investment grant funding
  4. Capacity building resource materials provided for both Angel Investors and Entrepreneurs
