Details:
The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (the CCCCC) has received financing from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for the purpose of implementing the project “The R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) for Climate Resilience Wastewater Systems in Barbados (3R-CReWS) project” and intends to apply a part of the proceeds towards payments for the Contract “Consultancy to develop a strategy and action plan to engage the private sector in the provision and adoption of wastewater treatment technology and the utilization of wastewater byproducts for 3R-CReWS Project in Barbados”.
The scope of work for the consulting firm to develop a strategy and action plan for engaging the private sector in wastewater treatment technology and the utilization of wastewater byproducts for the 3R-CReWS Project in Barbados will involve a comprehensive assessment of the current wastewater management landscape, including existing systems, technologies, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks. The firm will identify opportunities for resource recovery within the context of the 3R-CReWS framework, and map key stakeholders in the private sector, government, and other relevant sectors to assess their needs and readiness to engage. The firm will then develop a strategy for private sector engagement, focusing on the adoption and scaling of wastewater treatment technologies and the use of wastewater byproducts, including creating business models, financial mechanisms, and policy recommendations to incentivize investment.
