The Community Management / Digital Production Coordinator (CM/DPC) shares responsibility for the production of all visual and multimedia elements of Mission public engagement, including design, creation and/or acquisition of customized visual and multimedia content, which is disseminated online, in-person or via traditional broadcast. Creates compelling visual content for all Mission outreach materials by assessing visual aspects of the eastern Caribbean media environment, public preferences for visual content formats and dissemination channels, and the impact of Mission visual materials. Assists the Strategic Communications Specialist with development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for external Mission communication in crisis situations and Mission response to countering malign influence and disinformation.
The U.S. Ambassador to Barbados is accredited bilaterally to six additional eastern Caribbean (“host nation”) countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Mission agencies cover a total of 28 countries and territories in the broader Caribbean, including the Embassy in Grenada, consular agencies in Antigua and Martinique, and a Peace Corps main office in Saint Lucia with sub-offices in Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent. This large area of responsibility places extraordinary demands on U.S. government human and financial resources, including public diplomacy.
