The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB or the Bank) is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate to fill the position of Chief Executive Assistant (CEA) to the President. The successful candidate will be based at CDB’s headquarters in St. Michael, Barbados.
The Chief Executive Assistant (CEA) to the President is accountable for providing the President with comprehensive and proactive executive support and professionally representing the President to staff, senior management, and regional and international officials. The Chief Executive Assistant handles communication and outreach, serves as a liaison to the senior management team and senior regional and international officials, and contributes to special projects emanating from the Office of the President.
The CEA should be resourceful and enjoy working in a mission-driven, results-oriented environment. The ideal individual will have excellent written and verbal communication, administrative and organisational skills and exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. The CEA will work with a high level of discretion in providing wide-ranging executive assistance; effectively sets and manages priorities and workflow under pressure; has the ability to execute projects independently; and handles confidential matters with discretion.
The CEA must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels, including staff, senior management, board members, government officials, external partners, and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response. He or she must be proactive and forward-looking in approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability. The CEA must have demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and objectives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without close supervision. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat and relevant technology and systems to help organise data and information is required, along with the ability to create reports, presentations, charts, graphs, databases, and spreadsheets. He or she must possess strong proficiency in social media web platforms.
