KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – There are no reports of fatalities in the aftermath of an accident in Cuba which involved Caribbean nationals on Saturday.
According to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here, the accident that took place close to the town Santa Clara, involved several Caribbean students studying in Havana, who were on their way to Camaguey for an Independence activity for Grenada.
“The accident reportedly occurred when the bus in which the students were travelling swerved to avoid another vehicle and in the process overturned in a ditch. The nationalities of those on-board confirmed so far are Grenadians, a Trinidadian and a Vincentian,” the release stated.
While there were no deaths, there were reports of minor injuries and bruises.
The injured students were examined at hospitals and returned to scheduled classes in their respective Universities on Monday. (Full article)
