WASHINGTON, CMC – The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) says leading experts from academia and development institutions will gather here this week to address development challenges facing the Caribbean and Latin America.
The Washington-based financial institution said while the region faces “complex development challenges,” including crime, low growth rates and lagging educational achievement, scholars and policymakers will examine recent “policy-relevant findings that can assist the region in reaching its vast potential.”
Topics to be discussed during the June 13–14 seminar, will include educational achievement and growth, alcohol consumption and crime, innovation policy and environmental taxes.
