From 13–17 October, the CARICOM Secretariat will once again come alive with youthful energy when participants of the CARICOM Young Professionals Programme (CYPP) reunite for an exciting week of in-person activities, spirited debates, and forward-thinking presentations.
This vibrant gathering marks the culmination of four intense months, which provided the CARICOM nationals aged 22 to 35 with the tools and insights needed to champion the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). The week’s agenda is packed with opportunities to reconnect, sharpen leadership skills, foster trust and collaboration, and reflect on their transformative journey.
🌟 Programme highlights include:
- The Little Caribbean Market Experience | 13 October: A celebration of Caribbean identity! Participants will creatively showcase their home countries through symbolic items, flavours, and experiences, offering a rich tapestry of culture, history, and community.
- CSME | Turkeyen Conversation | 16 October: A dynamic collaboration with the University of Guyana Indigenous Students Association and the University of Guyana Students Society (UGSS), this forum will spark meaningful dialogue around youth engagement and regional integration.
- Presentation of CYPP Certificates | 17 October: A proud moment as participants are formally recognised for their dedication and achievements throughout the programme.

Michele Small-Bartley, Programme Manager for Youth Development at the CARICOM Secretariat, shared her enthusiasm:
“We have been working virtually over the past few months on capacity-building initiatives. Today, we are thrilled to welcome them back for the in-person sessions. This will be a high-impact week filled with interactive learning and powerful conversations around the CSME.”
💡 About the CYPP Launched to strengthen youth leadership across the Region, the CYPP offers immersive training, hands-on workshops, and experiential learning to help young professionals navigate and promote the CSME. The first in-person session was held in June 2025, and this upcoming gathering promises to build on that momentum with even greater impact.
Stay tuned as the next generation of Caribbean change makers takes centre stage!
