CARICOM SG at UNCTAD16 | 20 -23 October

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) – CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett is participating in the 16th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16) from 20–23 October 2025.

Held under the theme, “Shaping the Future: Driving Economic Transformation for Equitable, Inclusive and Sustainable Development,” the conference brings together world leaders, changemakers, and experts to discuss global trends and policy perspectives on trade, investment, development, and the digital economy, setting UNCTAD’s mandate for the next four years.

While in Geneva, Dr. Barnett will participate in two high-level panels:

  • Leveraging the Digital Transformation for Regional Integration: From Policy to Practice
  • Global Services Forum 2025

Dr Barnett will also meet with the CARICOM Caucus and key international partners.
