Thursday, 18 September 2025 (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown): – The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has extended congratulations to the Government and People of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis on the country’s Forty-second Anniversary of Independence, celebrated on 19 September 2025.
In a message conveyed to the Honourable Dr Terrance Michael Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, CARICOM Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett commended the nation’s enduring commitment to progress and regional integration.
Reflecting on the anniversary theme, “Perpetual Progress – A Sustainable Future in View: Independence 42”, Dr Barnett noted that it invites both celebration and reflection on the strides made since 1983, and underscores the importance of sustained efforts in achieving long-term development.

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I congratulate the Government and People of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis on the country’s Forty-Second Anniversary of Independence.
