Young artists throughout the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will have an opportunity to showcase their skills in a book cover design competition organised by the CARICOM Secretariat.
The aim of the book is to equip and provide young people of the Community with pertinent information in a simplified manner as it relates to the events and process of Regional Integration.
Details of the competition, including the prizes, will be revealed at a launch during a press conference to be held on Tuesday 9 January 2001 at 10.a.m at the headquarters of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), the Garrison, Barbados.
Participants at the launch will include Deputy Prime Minister of Barbados Hon. Billie Miller, CARICOM Secretary-General, Mr Edwin Carrington, Assistant Secretary-General of Human and Social Development, Dr. Edward Greene, Mr. William Anderson of the Canadian High Commission in Barbados, Mr. John Campbell representing the Registrar CXC, the competition’s chief judge, Mr Ricardo Redman, an experienced graphic designer from Barbados and book publisher Mr Ian Randle. Representatives of some of the sponsors of the prizes will also be present.
