(TIGI) Tuesday said they intend lobbying the Guyana government to beef up the necessary institutions to deal with corruption. In a joint statement, the two organisations agreed that the “perception of corruption of Guyana is too important to be ignored and negatively impacts on business and investment”. PSC said that Transparency International’s 2012 ranking of Guyana at 133 and a score of 28 out of 100 was “based on perceptions and not reality, and the methodology used may not be appropriate.
