ACP countries pleased with dialogue with European Union

BRUSSELS, CMC – African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries say they are pleased with the outcome of deliberations with the European Union (EU) on a number of issues including the European Development Fund (EDF) and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
ACP ministers met with the EU partners at the joint Council of Ministers level here last week and according to a statement issued following the two days of deliberations, they were “rather pleased with a compromise on the financial envelope of the 11th European Development Fund, and with a step made by the EU on the EPA”.
The ACP said that it welcomed the compromise on the amount of the 11th EDF which will have a financial allocation of Euro 31.5 billion (One Euro =US$1.29 cents) as well as the consensus on the “bridging facility” between the 10th and the 11th EDF.
