As the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat continues to equip its staff to manage its resource mobilisation functions, some 45 senior members of staff will be exposed to training in project development and project management performance, via a series of workshops.
Funded by the Canadian International Development Agency, the first workshop commences on Tuesday, 9 March 2004 and concludes on 18 March 2004. The second and third workshops are scheduled for 19-18 April 2004 and 7-12 June 2004, respectively.
Workshop topics include the Project Cycle, Logical Framework Methodology, Results-based Management, Project Management and Project Appraisal. It is anticipated that this training will further equip members of staff to, among other things, prepare project proposals more efficiently and effectively, resulting in greater effectiveness in implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
The Project Development Institute (PDI) of Caribbean Global Projects Inc., Barbados, has been selected to deliver the Training Programme. Training will be done by three of the Institute’s staff, namely: Mr. Herman Grant, formerly Head of Training at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB); Ms. Beverly Charles, a Project Analyst and Project Cycle Management Consultant with more than 30 years’ experience, and Mr. David Logan, a former Director of Projects, Jamaica Administrative Staff College.
