CARICOM Secretary-General welcomes Ambassador of China to the Secretariat

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) – Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett, on Tuesday 28 October, welcomed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana, Her Excellency Yang Yang, for a courtesy visit, at the CARICOM Secretariat Headquarters.

During the visit, the Ambassador noted the importance of CARICOM as a regional organisation and affirmed the value China attaches to cooperating and engaging with the Community.

Ambassador Yang was accompanied by several officials of the Embassy of China in Guyana including Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Huang Rui; Counsellor, Mr. Li Hanging, and Political Officer, Mr. Qin Yangyiran.

The Secretary-General was joined by Assistant Secretary-General, Foreign and Community Relations, Ms. Elizabeth Solomon, and Chef de Cabinet, Office of the Secretary-General, Ambassador Janice Miller.
