Position Summary
Under the general direction and supervision of the Managing Director and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Manager Banking Services Department, shall provide leadership in executing the strategic direction, priorities, and initiatives of the Bank in fulfilment of its mandate, vision, and based on its core values.
The Manager Banking Services Department shall ensure that the Bank maintains a customer -centric focus and provide technical guidance to staff of the department to ensure consistency.
Skills & Core Competencies Required:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point) applications.
- Expected to develop proficiency in other applications used by the Bank.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with good quantitative skills.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate with clarity, thoroughness, tact and diplomacy, and to make presentations in a clear and concise, manner in various fora.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and negotiations skills including attention to detail.
- Should be self-motivated, dynamic, creative, and experienced in working with internal and external customers, with strong customer service focus.
- Should be results-driven and willing to push self and others to achieve corporate goals with unwavering attention and adherence to the Bank’s core values and principles.
- Ability to actively identify problems and opportunities for change, implement solutions where appropriate, to exercise sound judgement in making decisions and taking actions with a strong ethical basis.
- Ability to remain positive in the face of challenges, resolve conflicts, support others in their efforts to try new things, embrace change, and to act with integrity.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and workflows.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the Bank’s loan portfolio by actively identifying new business opportunities and ensuring adequate promotion of the Bank throughout Saint Lucia.
- Oversee the lending and technical assistance operations of the Bank.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management Department in the provision of technical assistance to clients.
- Supervise and train officers responsible for the delivery of the Bank’s credit and technical assistance programmes.
- Critically review and assess project proposals submitted for financing.
- Ensure that loan conditions are met before the disbursement of funds and monitor the progress of loan disbursements in keeping with conditions set by the Bank.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Management, or other related discipline or
- Professional Qualification in Accounting or Finance and Training and Experience in project appraisal and implementation.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project finance at a senior level in a financial institution.
