Duties

Under the general direction of the Supervisory Computer Management Assistant (LAN) (IMA-LAN) and the Information Systems Officer (ISO), the incumbent will serve as one of five Information Management Assistants, and the sole one in her/his St. George’s office.  The focus of the duties of this IMA-LAN position is acting as both senior IMA-LAN and IMA-LAN supervisor, when the section’s supervisor is unavailable. As the senior IMA-LAN the incumbent is the section’s tier-2 subject matter expert (SME) in Consular, Finance, advanced server operations and troubleshooting, and performs other duties as required and assigned. Also responsible for St. George’s radio and telephone communications, Diplomatic Pouch and Mail services, GSO receiving services, and serving as backup driver for the post armored vehicle.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible technical IT experience is required. Examples of that experience might include but are not limited to; managing a small office’s IT needs when those needs encompass a broad spectrum of support provided to the office user and customer base; or responsibility for systems and Local Area Network (LAN) database and/or online presence in the IT department of a medium to large sized firm or other entity. This experience and responsibility must include technical knowledge and support of Microsoft systems including Windows Server 2012; Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Office 0365; desktop operating systems to include Windows 10; the standard Microsoft Office suite of products to include Outlook 2016. Experience in the use of Visio, SharePoint and Microsoft Project is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

A thorough understanding, technical knowledge and advanced proficiency in administration and use of Microsoft Server, Exchange, and Windows operating systems, administration, installation, configuration are required.

Other required knowledge and their skill levels include:

-At a minimum, a good working knowledge of the OSI Model, TCP/IP stack, DHCP and how they function are required.

-Must be able to administer up 15 end-user workstations at the advanced level with little or no supervision.

-Must be proficient at the advanced level in developing updating and maintaining a SharePoint hierarchy within a parent collection together with all duties associated with the management of its sites, pages, and other objects contained within it, to Department standards.

-Must have a standard level of understanding of SharePoint roles associated with a Site and how to accomplish collection of metrics for purposes of maintaining the continuity of Posts sites within the greater parent collection, and what the entails.
