Work it out!

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – OVER the past couple of days enough was said to indicate that all is not well with trading relations between Barbados and some of its Caribbean partners; something which those in the business of exporting have complained about repeatedly. At the recent launch of BMEX 2013 at Mount Gay Distilleries, Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business, Donville Inniss, cautioned that Government will not stand idly by while Barbadians goods are being prevented from entering other regional markets because of what he called “frivolous and vexatious” tactics. Two days later, the Executive Director of the Barbados Manufacturers Association, Ms. Bobbi McKay, also had her say. Telling Barbadians that they must buy local wherever possible, Ms. McKay insisted that going that route means protecting Barbadian jobs and supporting the development and growth of the national economy.
