Patricia Janet Scotland, Baroness Scotland of Asthal, PC, KC is a Dominican-born British diplomat, barrister and politician who currently serves as the sixth Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations. She was elected at the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and took office on 1 April 2016, becoming the first woman to hold the post.


As Commonwealth Secretary-General, Scotland has focused on issues such as climate change, trade, and democracy. She was re-elected to a second term at the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Revered Guyanese cricketer and Caribbean hero Sir Clive Hubert Lloyd is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricket captains of all time. His was instrumental in the West Indies Cricket team’s rise to become the greatest Test and One Day International team of the 20th century.

Mr. Roderick Rainford, a national of Jamaica, was Secretary-General from 1983 to 1992. He served as Deputy Secretary-General to Secretary-General Dr. Kurleigh King prior to acceding to the position of Secretary-General.
