Grenada is hosting the 47th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community, from 28-30 July 2024 in St. George’s. It is hosting the Conference in the year of its 50th Independence Anniversary. At the same time, the Community is closing the curtains on its 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Located in the southernmost region of the Windward Islands, Grenada is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea.
Together with two smaller islands (Carriacou and Petite Martinique), and various small islets, Grenada is the main island with St George’s as the Capital city.
The country has a population of about 124,523 and is 348.5 km² in area.
It is referred to as the "Spice Isle" because of its abundance of spices, including mace and nutmeg.
Grenada is also well known for its ecotourism, which combines adventure, the splendor of nature, cultural, and culinary experiences. With 14 waterfalls, beautiful jungles, and mountain summits, it's an adventurer's paradise. The island’s vibrant culture is showcased through its unique ‘Spicemas’ carnival and enduring festivals including Jab Jab.
