Heads to increase co-operation on crime and security

    CARICOM Heads of Government deliberated on the issue of crime and security and agree to increase their cooperation and collaboration in this area.

    President of Guyana H.E. David Granger signs the protocol amending the Treaty to formally establish the Council of National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE),

    “The Conference adopted and opened for signature, the Protocol Amending the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas to Incorporate the Council for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE) as an Organ of the Community and the Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) as an Institution of the Community.

     

    St. Lucia’s Foreign Minister Alva Baptiste signs the Protocol establishing the Council of National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE)

    The Hon. Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and Head of Government with lead responsibility for Security, was the first to sign the Protocol. Other Member States which signed the Protocol at this meeting were Guyana and Saint Lucia.”
